Issue #2 Digital Copy Now Available

Thank you to everyone who made the launch of Pink Cover Zine Issue #2 at the MCA Zine Fair a big success. I was delighted to see so many people’s faces light up as they flicked through the pages. To see others love reading and looking at these beautiful pieces as much as I do was the best reward.

For those who weren’t able to get a hard copy, the digital version can now be downloaded here.

We are already brain storming for Issue #3, so look out for a call for submissions shortly.

MCA Zine Fair

Issue #2 is almost ready and we are so excited to be launching it at this years Museum of Contemporary Art Zine Fair on May 6th. Please come along, say hi, and grab your copy.

MCA Zine Fair is an annual festival featuring a stellar line-up of zinesters, distros, independent presses, and artists. Showcasing zines, small press, prints and comics from across the country, the fair celebrates the alternative, experimental and emerging.

In 2018, the annual MCA Zine Fair will be celebrating its 10th year of swapping, making and selling zines. Mark your calendar for one of our best-loved programs, as we showcase over 100 creators of zines, small press and comics from across the country.

Check out all the details here.

Let’s Talk About Sex

Pink Cover Zine issue #2 is open for submissions and invites your stories, poems, creations and musings about sex in all it’s proliferations!

The single celled organism Tetrahymena thermophilia has seven sexes and can reproduce in 21 combinations. Human, animal, plant, prokaryote: sex is fundamental, and we want to know your take on it. When it comes to sex there is no normal, so we are especially interested in reading pieces that explore and reflect on aspects of sex that are under-represented in the mainstream.

We are open to pieces exploring but not limited to:

  • sexual experiences, from the awkward to the transformational.
  • the spectrum of sex and sexuality.
  • modern sexuality: dating, porn and the digital body.
  • sex in nature and the sciences.
  • erotica and fetishism.
  • sex and spirituality.
  • intersections between pop culture and sex.
  • corporeality: the body, its fluids and all its complexities.
  • any and all abstract interpretations…

  • Short Fiction/Non Fiction (one piece up to (around) 1,000 words)
  • Poetry (no more than three poems)
  • Photography (send as many as you like)
  • Other – collage, drawing, painting or anything else that can be presented in print (send whatever you like provided it can be sent digitally)

Submissions close on Tuesday, February 20th for publication in print and digitally in March/April 2018.
